It's been a long time, I thought I should update. Since last August, I have graduated from college with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education. I did my student teaching, which I really enjoyed. I taught eighth grade Social Studies at Whittier Middle School in Norman. It was fun. I loved the youngsters and will miss them. I also got into law school, I am starting at Faulkner University's Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama in August. I have never really left home, but I am excited about moving. I have a lot of family there and I am excited about getting to spend more time with them and getting to know them well. Knowing I have them there also makes me less apprehensive about going away from home. I also think that a christian college will be good for me. It is much smaller than what I am used to, but I am ready for a change. I am moving out of my apartment in Norman this week. Kind of weird thinking about the fact that I am moving out of Norman for good. I will miss Norman. I have made so many good friends and will miss them a lot. I will miss OU. For the first time since I can remember I won't be going to Oklahoma football games, and Oklahoma football is serious business. I went to Harold's Tuesday, a men's clothing store on Campus Corner in Norman, and got an OU tie and OU cufflinks, so I can represent my alma mater while I am away. I have loved Norman, but this is part of life. I am much more excited about the move than nervous and sad. I hope I haven't made people think otherwise. I used to have pictures on my posts, but I don't to day. Since last August I have taken a ton though, and they are on facebook, so most of the people reading this have seen them. --PEACE

My summer is over. The church gave me this big goin away cookout, it was so humbling, and I am so grateful to the church at Seminole, not just for this summer, but the past five years that I have been a member. I have grown so much spiritually and learned so much it is amazing to me. God is so amazing! It's still hard for me to understand. It was such an amazing summer, and we grew, and it was so flattering last night. God Bless the church at Seminole.

Wow, that gospel meeting at Pauls Valley was great. I'm an idiot for not taking pictures. The singing was indeed sensational and the preaching was really powerful. Brant Stubblefield is fiery preacher and the church needs a lot more like him. That boy can preach I'm tellin ya. It was a great experience for our youth and me.

Oh, a great thing happened last night. We took the youth group to a youth gathering at the South Walker church of Christ in the city. They sing songs, and have prayers, and a preacher gives a lesson, and then they fellowship. Anyways, one of the boys from the group brought a friend who is not a member of the church of Christ, he was really active in the First Baptist Church in Seminole. He's a really good kid and sincerely desires to please God and live in accordance with His will but was never told the truth on how to do that(its found in scripture). Anyways, he started asking me questions about what the church of Christ was and what our doctrine is and what not. He thought we were just another denomination and that we had a written doctrine like the southern baptists to go by and what not. I told him about how we're not a denomination and have no doctrine but Christ(II John 9) and no book but the bible(II Timothy 3:16-17, Revelation 22:18), and are just a congregation of christians trying our very best to go by what the bible says, nothing more, nothing less. We started studying all the way home and we got to talking about how one becomes a christian, how one gets "saved." We started looking at scriptures on baptism and he confessed that he had never seen them, you know the typical verses, (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, I Peter 3:21). He was under the understanding of the baptist doctrine that one is saved simply by "praying the sinners prayer." He came to the conclusion that indeed he was not saved and the only way was to be baptized into Christ in order to the remission of sins. He believed in Christ, and knew that He died on the cross, now he needed to respond to the gospel. Well, we got back to the church building and I had to give him and Blake, his friend in the youth group, a ride back to Blake's house. Blake is raised by his great-grandparents. Anyways, on the way home, he was being real quiet. I told him to read Acts 8:26-39, the story of the Ethiopian Eunuch, he had never read it either, when I was pretty sure I was going to obey the gospel a friend of mine told me to read it to, and it's what made me sure of what I needed to do. It's still amazing to me that anyone can become a christian just like people did 2000 years ago. Well, soon after he read it he said that he wanted to be baptized. He was baptized in the baptist church, but it was just as a "public profession that he had been saved." He now understood though that a biblical baptism was one that was in order to the remission of sins, and he needed to do it. We went to Blake's Grandparent's house and sat down and talked about some stuff and I called one of our elders, Jack Mattingly Sr., who lives right by the church building and he met us up at the building. Blake, Jo(Blake's Grandma), J.P., and I went up to the building and met Big Jack and we baptized him into Christ! Amen. Another name written into the Lamb's book of Life, another soul added to church by the Lord Himself!(Acts 2:47)

It's an interesting situation. He told me that his Dad and brothers would not like what he did, but his parents are divorced and he's moving to Norman to live with his Mom this month and will be a freshman at Norman High this year. I'll be back in Norman too this month and I called the youth minister Brett McKnight at my church in Norman and got him his information and what not so we can get him hooked up with a sound church and a good youth group. Brett told me he'd get him taken care of and call him and visit him. He's a really mature kid and has a strong desire to please God.

Let them praises give Jehovah!

I'm pretty sure we're going Sunday at 2:30, if you live near there, join us! It'll be old fashioned. It's being hosted by the black congregation there in Paul's Valley.

My best friend Daniel got married this past weekend. It was in Frederick, Oklahoma, far southwestern Oklahoma, and let me tell you, if you can help it, don't live down there. It's flat, no trees, nothing. But, it was cool seeing Daniel get married and we had barbque at the rehearsal dinner, I mean, GOOD barbque, but OH! no sweet tea!, just unsweetened, and no sweetner! WHHHYYYYY???!!! It was at the First Baptist Church there in Frederick, I was the only person there that wasn't a southern baptist, the ONLY ONE, haha, but it was cool, Daniel is a great friend. I loved the church building, it's really old, and was just like the building I grew up going too, almost exactly, balcony, organ on the right, piano on the left, red carpet, it was cool. I've been in the church for almost five years now, so it's more noticeable now, but I couldn't believe how much emphasis they put on the musical instruments and how the musicians draw so much attention to themselves by spicing it up and what not. It never occurred to me before because I didn't know any different and I didn't understand that worship isn't about what I want and what makes me feel good, but it's about what God desires, and what He commands.

Meanwhile, Rhett Bomar is a not very smart college kid, but, Paul Thompson didn't get much of a chance last year, but this year he's gonna be the one and he's gonna be awesome, and AD will of course win the Heisman, but he would even if I were the quarterback. go ou.
